I hate telling people what I do for a living. They look at me like I have some kind of disability for taking the job. I am an inventory control specialists, which fancy words for I work in a warehouse and I count the inventory. I need to make sure that the tally of items taken out and imported into the warehouse, are right. I know it sounds boring and mundane, and it is, but it is an important job and I get paid well to it. I think that I deserve good pay for what I do. It may not be a difficult job, but it helps to control shrinkage in the company, which is a big concern when it comes to overhead. I also have it pretty easy in my work environment. There is climate control in our building. There aren’t a lot of warehouses that have heating and air conditioning, and we are very lucky to have it. The company I work for, cares about their workers and they know how hot it can get in a warehouse. They also know that it would feel colder than outside, during the winter. They have supplied us with excellent heating and air conditioning to make our job more tolerable. People can taunt me about just doing inventory all of the time, but I don’t care. I have the perfect work conditions because of climate control. I think they are just jealous; toiling away in their less than perfect heating and air conditioning, and probably making less money than I do.
